Below are 5 different moves by Wenn Young, Aileron’s trainer, using their speciality in TRX and Power Plate exercises
- Power Plate Plank with Side Rotation
Keep the whole body in a straight line. Rotate slowly to the right with right arm leaving the power plate and left leg slowly kicking through below the right leg. Hold for a few seconds, reset and do the same in the opposite direction.
- Power Plate Russian Twist
Sit on the power plate with a medicine ball. Legs in the air and knees together. Rotate torso and move the medicine ball to the right, keeping legs still. Then rotate to the left. Avoid using arms.
- Power Plate Knee Tuck
Sit on the power plate with legs in the air (arms on power plate for support). Straighten legs then move knees to chest, keeping upper body still at all times.
- TRX Mountain Climbers
Hook feet to TRX. Knees off the ground, resulting in a high plank position (i.e. push up position with arms straightened). Drive one knee to your chest, reset, and drive another knee to chest. Go faster if you want!
- TRX pike (push up optional)
Hook feet to TRX. Knees off the ground, resulting a high plank position (i.e. push up position with arms straight). Move hip to the sky keeping legs straight, resulting in a inverted V position.
Power Plate is engineered to activate the human body’s natural reflexive responses to vibration. The vibrations move in three directions harmoniously: up/down, forwards/backwards, and side-to-side. In particular, the up and down vibration mimics the body jumping at the rate set by the Power Plate, and the brain will be told muscles are under tension, causing more fibre recruitment and blood flow.
