- How long has Yoga House been opened for?
- What would you say is the concept behind Yoga House?
Yoga House is the place for people from all walks of life to practice yoga; from the advanced to the beginners, the young and the old, the fit and the not so fit, in other words, EVERYONE. It is our Breathing Community where we can practice, connect and most importantly be ourselves.
- What have you done to grow your brand awareness?
We have invested much effort into creating a brand that aligns with our concept through social media. Social Media is an essential tool nowadays with so many users and we use this regularly. We also look to create associations with like-minded brands such as GuavaPass and others and we do take part in selected events around Dubai. We are currently working on an exciting new concept that will be announced very soon!
- As a community-based studio, what do you think attracts people outside of the community to come to Yoga House?
We are proud to offer some of the best teachers and classes in Dubai in a down to earth and non-judgmental environment. We welcome people from all backgrounds and levels and have a genuine interest in helping them grow their practice. We are also the most easily accessible studio with a direct connection to Sheikh Zayed Road and extensive parking availability from both the Sheikh Zayed Side as well as The Greens.
- What would you say is the importance of location in becoming a successful studio?
Extremely important to be in the right location nowadays with the number of new studios that are opening. People like convenience and ease of access.
- Do you see that picking the right trainers is important? What is your process?
We consider our trainers our key asset and look at them as a part of our family. Our approach was to identify key instructors from the start, such as Danielle Bailey, Anna Wyganowska and Karen Mattar who have helped us grow into our reputable studio. Our process of teacher selection centers around an understanding of their background and years of experience before having a group audition to get a feel for their approach to the various stages of a class. It’s funny that we actually had an audition with Danielle through skype when she was in Cyprus and we immediately clicked! Of course, we would also not be able to manage without our Executive Administrator Eden Lasta who has been instrumental in holding the studio together!
- What are you best proud of Yoga House for?
Considering our background as Architects we have managed to put in place a solid yoga offering that has huge potential for growth. We love the fact that we have now created a large community of committed followers who appreciate what we offer and that we see regularly walking around our lovely neighborhood.
- Any advice you’d give to smaller studios in order to help them grow their business?
Assess carefully your target audience and competition, keep your costs low, pick the right location and offer an excellent quality of teaching. Always invest in your teachers as they are your most valuable asset!
