Mighty Mom: Yilan Yuen
Studio: Aboro Academy
Kids: Blue Stella Loc Yee Aboro Yuen (aged 13 months)
Describe a typical day for you, starting from when you wake up:
‘The early bird catches the worm’ is my life motto since we have a business and Blue. We wake up before Shanghai is on the move and definitely before Blue and that means not later 6:00am. I meditate for 10 mins, then stretch my body to get ready for the day.
How does keeping fit keep you mighty?
Keeping fit keeps me on track and focused.
What is your secret weapon?
I think my mindset is the most important thing. I tell myself ‘stay calm’ and always remind myself ‘nothing last forever’. Therefore training regularly is definitely a must.
What is your biggest tip for moms wanting to start their fitness journey, or to stay focused on the journey they’re on?
Make the time. The world looks very different when you feel good, especially if you’re the first person your baby is looking at. Spread the good vibes!
How important is keeping your kids active, and what do you do to encourage it?
Very important! We even have a foundation that keeps kids moving. Free training for kids from 6-14 years old.
Who is your Mighty Mom idol?
I believed in idols when I was a teenager. Now, I enjoy the crazy passionate, dedicated people that inspired me in all different ways. Shanghai is the city that offers you this great opportunity.
