How do you manage to balance your work life, your influencer role and your personal life with exercise? What does your average schedule look like?
It’s the truth—managing all the things you have to do as an adult is a challenge. For me, the most game-changing advice I’ve gotten is to manage your time wisely; If you’re truly going to act on your priorities between work life, influencer role and exercise, you need to dedicate time to them. Waking up at 6 AM gives me extra hours in the day, which allows me to exercise in the morning and have a productive day of work ahead.
What made you so interested in the workout you’re representing? How long have you been practising it?
There are so many reasons why I love Pilates. Pilates is a big part of my life—I felt calm and I loved noticing how flexible I became each time I went to class. Why Pilates then? I love that it doesn’t just tone your muscles, it actually changes the way you use your body. Every time I finish my Pilates practice, I feel fit, energized and have a glow around me.
Tell us a little bit about your background and how that has helped shape the woman you are today.
I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. I’m a full-time social media influencer, a part-time traveler, and part-time translator. Shanghai was my home for the past four years and I came back to Indonesia for good last year. As a woman, I think it’s very important to always be yourself and have faith in yourself, never ever stop learning and keep on exploring new things. There is this quote I found back in my first year of college: “Bring each other up instead of tearing each other down.” I think it captures the very essence of what I’ve learned about encouraging other women. I’ve been carrying that quote everywhere I go and doing my best to always be proactive and supportive to other women, reaching out to them whenever there’s a problem, and to really be there for each other. I think that’s how I shaped the woman I am today.
What is your view on the saying ‘work hard, play hard’?
“Work hard, play hard” – words everyone should live by. The truth is, you cannot be happy by having fun all the time. But, you can’t spend all your time working either. Life is all about finding the right balance.
What are the 4 things you always carry with you to keep you looking fresh and feeling fabulous?
Compact powder, lip tint, perfume, and body lotion.
If you had to give your 15-year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Fifteen wasn’t that long ago for me but the ten years between then and now seems like an entire lifetime. I wish I could tell my younger self to stop watching so much TV and learn more skills such as ballet, music, and art.
If you had to give someone who is intimidated by the type of workout you represent one piece of advice, what would it be?
I think I would say to him/her to bring a friend whenever they work out. Having another person with you while you work out will give you a sense of familiarity and comfort, making you feel safer.
What is your favourite music to work out to (mention 5)? Who is your musical guilty pleasure?
– Yellow Claw
– DJ Snake
– A$AP ROCKY
– Dipha Barus
– Cash Cash
