Over the last 4 weeks, we’ve seen everything from Guavas completing 18 classes in 2 days, to friendships being developed over a sweaty guava class, even Guavas jumping cities and still completing the challenge. But we never expected THIS much dedication from one member of the GuavaPass community!
We were made aware of Jillian Clegg’s story by her equally committed friend who both decided to partake in the Guava18 challenge. This is her story:
“My name is Jillian Clegg. I am Canadian who teaches Physical Education at Dubai American Academy. I am an avid runner.
After two weeks traveling Asia, I need some motivation and that is where the Guava18 Challenge came in. I started off the challenge strong visiting some of my favorite studios such as 1six8, Round 10 and The Warehouse, as well as some amazing new studios such as Club Core Pro and Platform.
By the end of the first week, I had visited 13 studios and done a range of classes from HIIT, to cycle, to yoga and everything in between.
But, when I booked into Prama I hit a roadblock.
I had a bad fall and ended up in the hospital with a fractured wrist.
Frustrated and disappointed, my first thought was I would not be able to complete the challenge, crushing my fitness goals.
What a way to start off 2018. After Xrays, an MRI and cast I was cleared to do non-impact physical activity.
The first thing I did was get on GuavaPass.com and book every cycle class I could!
I was even more determined to finish out the challenge. As a Physical Education teacher, I want to motivate my students to set goals and strive to accomplish them. Again, the accountability and having to post photos to Instagram kept me going. I completed the challenge and am still cycling strong!
I am looking forward to having my cast removed in three weeks so I can give some other classes a try.”
Wishing you a speedy recovery Jillian!
