All BarreAmped exercises are also certified by a team of experts in the fields of anatomy, physical therapy, orthopedics, and biomechanics. With all this prior and ongoing research, it is no surprise that BarreAmped continues to evolve and remain a forerunner in the fitness and movement world.
Reason 3: Extensive Teacher Training
In order to become BarreAmped certified, all teachers have to undergo vigorous and intensive BarreAmped training that involves both the practical as well as theoretical examination. In addition, all teachers are required to go through continuous training, attend teachers workshops, and attend classes on a weekly basis to keep up with their BarreAmped practice and to be able to renew their license yearly. All this extensive training is required so that BarreAmped clients get the attention they deserve and proper instruction from teachers who are trained to have the right eye to look out for even the slightest deviation from what is beneficial. In the words of Suzanne Bowen, “it’s not about perfection, but about excellence”.

About the writers:
Jessica was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where she was first introduced to barre fitness. She began her practice in 2009 and became certified to teach BarreAmped in early 2015 as part of the Hong Kong Barre 2 Barre team. She completed her MBA at INSEAD in 2016 and partnered with Karen and Mylène on the expansion of Barre 2 Barre into Singapore. Outside of the studio, Jessica loves playing tennis and running as part of her cardio regime. Teaching good form is instilled in Jessica’s mind to prevent injuries, having suffered from injury numerous times playing team sports.
Although she is actually half American, Nicole considers herself a true blue Singaporean as she has lived there her entire life. When she is not writing for various publications, she can be found thrashing CrossFit WODS (or at least trying to), burning her thighs at barre, or finding some excuse to soak up the sun. In other words, this self-confessed, die hard Disney fan finds it hard to sit still – unless there’s a rerun of FRIENDS showing!
