An exercise that has recently taken off in Singapore and around the world is trampoline fitness. The class, performed entirely on a mini-trampoline, incorporates elements of dance, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and core strength to create a full body workout. Kulture Studios is the first of many in Singapore to offer their personalised Bounce Fit program to clients and GuavaPass members. The Bounce Fit Cardio Burn class combines fast and slow jumps with dance components that increase the heart rate and activates muscles across the entire body, all the while being an extremely fun and interesting class.
Bounce Fit the Kulture way
Today’s class was instructed by Scott who has been with Kulture Studios for close to a year now. He brought great energy to the class that was filled with a mix of regulars and first-timers, all of whom enjoyed the intense and entertaining class. The Bounce Fit Cardio Burn class can accommodate up to around 25 people, but today we had 10 people giving us plenty of space to spread out around the studio.
How to bounce
Scott walked us through the basic movements of a Bounce Fit Cardio Burn class and the names of the different actions which he would call. Then we started jumping along to fun music and instantly began to work up a sweat. As the tempo of each song became faster and faster, the session became a serious workout! The benefit of doing the type of moves usually found in aerobic classes on a trampoline is that it absorbs around 80% of the shock on your joints, compared to running on a hard surface.
A cardio and toning workout rolled into one
It’s also one of the best cardio workouts in terms of max heart rate and calories burned; 1 minute on the trampoline is equivalent to 3 on the treadmill, giving you a more effective and efficient workout. If you thought this workout was just going to be working your legs, think again – it’s a whole body session. To finish off the class, we bounced through an extreme core workout lying down on the trampoline, with moves that put the entire class into fits of laughter.
Kulture Studios’ Bounce Fit Cardio class was a great mix of people, exercise ideas and energy. The interactive and fun class works all the muscles in your body and helps build strength in the legs, core and even the arms. With a great cardio based format and dance components, the Bounce Fit Cardio Burn class was a fantastic intro to trampoline exercise.

#GuavaTip: Want to make your workout more intense? Try taking your hands off the handlebar when there is a sprint interval. This increases the workout on your arms and core, not just your legs.
