WeBarre is Singapore’s first boutique barre studio and their Signature WeBarre Multi-Level class is the perfect combination of floor, barre and free-weight work with components of HIIT style training to give you a seriously intense but fun workout.
Getting a toned, lean body
The WeBarre Multi-Level class is what they are known best for. By combining small, controlled pulses, full-range movements and light free-weights, the Barre class fatigues specific muscle groups resulting in that toned, lifted look most members desire. Today’s class was taught (or more accurately, performed) by Ming who has been teaching Barre for over 2 years and was by far the most expressive instructor I’ve had in any group class.
Shoulders, abs and bum
Over the 60-minute workout, the class was guided through mat work to activate the shoulders and arms, barre work to focus on the legs and finished the class by coming back to the mat to focus on the core for an intense 10-minute ab set. I was surprised as to how intense the mat work was with such lightweights but enjoyed it nonetheless! Having a class with such an enthusiastic teacher also really makes a difference to how you feel during and after the class: you forget about how much your muscles are working and just enjoy yourself and your body’s capabilities.
What makes it a Signature class?
The difference between The WeBarre Multi-Level signature class and other Barre classes is the intense HIIT components within the 60 minutes. This was sections of the class where there was no rest, and no breaks in between sets of plies, squats, lunges and pulses that really worked your entire body – giving you the combined benefit of cardio plus resistance training over a short period. This form of interval or HIIT training has been proven to be the most effective form of exercise for both weight loss and toning, so forget running on the treadmill for an hour, this type of class is perfect for sculpting your ultimate body.

#GuavaTip: The instructor will give you options on how to increase the intensity of your workout, but will a key way is to come onto the balls of your feet for any leg exercise – it activates your calves, glutes and hamstrings for a deeper burn (think of the bum!)
