This time of the year is when a lot of people take the opportunity to jet off to see family back home, to take a holiday with the kids, or just get out of wherever you’re based. It’s definitely a time where a lot of people are out of their usual routine.
We know the questions going through your minds, because we’re thinking it too! Here are some ways you can keep up the sweat while you’re jetting off and out of your routine.
1. Like First Lady Michelle Obama, invest in a quality jump rope and bring it along with you. It’s light, it’s easily packed away, and most of all it’s a really effective workout. (Tip: If you’re not used to jump roping or haven’t done it since your lunches were packed by mom, then spend this time away to practice effective jump roping).
Think more like a boxer jumping rope, rather than little kids playing jump rope. Feet together or alternating between one foot to the other, short up and down jumps versus long strides forward, and staying in one spot. There are alternative things you can do with a jump rope, but let’s get the basics down!
2. Gliding discs are your next best friend. Just like jump ropes, they’re light, easily packed away, and a very effective and versatile workout tool. Alternatively, towels on a smooth floor works just as well.
These little gems are such a simple invention, but are amazing for targeted core workouts which can involve the whole body. There are plenty of resources online you can find workouts from, but a basic move to try which works the core, arms and legs is to do mountain climbers on these!
3. Search online for the endless library of workout videos. There are so many for everything you can imagine. There are even videos with travel and no equipment in mind. Amongst the multitude of sources, check out GuavaVideos. Made with the traveller in mind!
4. Of course if you’re travelling within the region, GuavaPass is available in Dubai, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Phuket, Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing, and Shanghai. Why not make use of your global membership?
