Healthy breakfasts in Dubai that you need to try
After a nice workout with our GuavaPass, all we need is to recover with a good breakfast. Choosing a healthy option will help you to control overeating and to curb sugar and carb cravings during the day. We have compiled our list of favorite healthy breakfast places in Dubai for GuavaPass:
- Friends’ Avenue, Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
This café is definitely top on our list for healthy breakfasts in Dubai, not only because the location is super convenient for us but also because it offers the magic formula for a perfect breakfast: high quality ingredients, affordable prices, good service and a really nice atmosphere! We absolutely love it! Breakfast is served until 11:30am on weekdays, and 1pm on weekends.
GuavaPass best match: the perfect breakfast after trying a class at Fit Boys Gym or Pilates Academy in JLT
What to eat: don’t miss their Brekkie board, scrambled eggs and granola.
What to drink: we love their coffee and their smoothies (especially the fruit booster).
Where: Fortune Executive Tower, Cluster T, Jumeirah Lakes Towers
The Açaí Spot, Deira.
We were not familiar with Açaí until we travelled to Rio de Janeiro, and we were missing out big time. This delicious berry is one of the healthiest fruits you will ever find. It is an indigenous berry found in the Amazon rainforest. It is full of antioxidants, which improve your skin and has anti-aging effects. It is proven to help fight heart disease and cancer and some studies prove that it helps to achieve weight loss goals. An amazing superfood that you should consider adding into your diet!
Since we came back from our trip, we have been searching for places to get our fix of Açaí in Dubai. That’s when we found The Acai Spot (queue ray of light and angels singing). Nicely decorated, this place pulls you into a chilled Brazilian atmosphere, provides a really good service, and has a wide menu of healthy options, most of them including Acai as their base ingredient.
Guavapass best match: great if you try a class of Core & Stretching at Soma Fit & Spa
What to eat: Original Acai Bowl (with banana slices and granola) and Pão de Queijo (typical Brazilian cheese balls deliciousness).
What to drink: Açaí smoothie or Açaí Mojito.
Where: Centurion Star Hotel (shop 20). Port Saaed, Deira.
Common Grounds, Mall of the Emirates.
One of the best restaurants of the new extension at Mall of the Emirates is “Common Grounds”, a new concept from the owners of the awarded café “Tom & Serg”.
Normally we are not really keen to dine inside a mall, but this Australian-European inspired café is a really nice option if you want to have a nutritious breakfast or simply a good coffee once you are at the mall.
GuavaPass best match: if you try the Open Gym at Hilton Double Tree Barsha, it’s just a couple of minutes away!
What to eat: Smashed avocado with poached eggs or the big breaky.
What to drink: their coffee is a must. If you want to have something different, try their smoothie selections!
Where: Level 2 Expansion near VOX Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates. 04 4551663. www.commongroundsdubai.com
- Comptoir 102, Jumeirah.
Located in the heart of Jumeirah, this place is not only a healthy café, but also a super-cool concept store. Once you are there, you will feel at home, a pleasantly designed one. You can find everything from jewelry to clothes or fine decoration from selected designers.
All the food served at Comptoir 102 comes directly from organic farms (they even have a daily menu accordingly to the harvest). Everything is sugar and dairy-free, and they also have some options without gluten. And the most important, it’s all delicious!
GuavaPass best match: amazing after a class at Physique 57 or Eco Yoga Sanctuary
What to eat: buckwheat pancakes with berries or with “green” eggs and avocado (if you prefer a salty option).
What to drink: mixed berries smoothie.
Where: 102 Beach Road,near Dubai Zoo, Jumeirah 1. 043854555. www.comptoir102.com
- More Café, Al Murooj Rotana.
More Café has 3 different branches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Our favorite is located at Murooj Rotana (in front of Dubai Mall). Its outdoor area makes it a really enjoyable place for breakfast or lunch (well, during fall and winter at least).
One of the highlights of More Café is its diverse menu, having options of dishes from all over the world. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the ingredients is superb. You can also buy their bread, coffee and ice-cream to-go at their grocery shopping area.
GuavaPass best match: great breakfast after a yoga class at Piloga or burning all your calories at BARE.
What to eat: the vegetarian sandwich is a must and you can never go wrong with their eggs benedict!
What to drink: kiwi smoothie or their wide coffee selection.
Where: D 71, Near Financial Center Rd, Downtown Dubai. 043433779. http://www.morecafe.co
- Bertin Bistro and restaurant
We came across Bertin Bistro & Restaurant the first time thanks to their exciting and engaging social media presence (check out their Instagram and Facebook). The beautiful photos of all the delicious food makes you want to come back and try more than just the breakfast.
The interior of the restaurant is different than the usual places you can find in Dubai. It truly has character and will take you on a journey of how Bertin Bistro got this far. On the walls and in the menus you can see a timeline with stories and photos of Mr. Bertin on how he started in France and then took inspiration from his time in Spain (Andalusia) and Morocco.
We highly recommend to visit Bertin Bistro & Restaurant for a delicious breakfast. They even do a special breakfast menu for just 55AED which includes more than you can think of. The atmosphere is great and the service is perfect. We will definitely go back soon and possibly try the dinner options as well since they all seem promising!
GuavaPass best match: perfect breakfast after a class of Barre at Café de La Danse or Physique 57.
What to eat: salmon eggs benedict and chia seeds bowl with fruits.
What to drink: Tropical sensation (mango & banana smoothy) and of course, the cappuccino (ask for your favorite design).
Where: Manara, Street 21B, Opposite Times Square, Sheikh Zayed Road, Al – 043219239
