Lesson #1 – Clean skin is key:
Sweat, dirt, and humidity isn’t the friendliest combination for our faces, especially in the summer heat and sporadic rain showers this season, the weather is not on our side.
Working out will cause you to sweat; in other words, your pores will open up. To keep pores unclogged and clean, keeping our skin clean before is just as important as keeping our skin clean after. I always keep a facial wet wipe or a travel size face cleanser handy in my gym bag. Some of my favorites are:
For facial wipes:
For face cleansers:
Lesson #2 – Hydration is momentous:
If you are up to date with pop-culture you would have noticed the sudden resurgence of specialty water bottles. One of the superstars in the market today, is S’well®! It’s more like a reinvented thermos, than just another water bottle.
Lesson #3 – No BO is achievable:
Sweating may be the new sexy, but smelling definitely isn’t. Whether you opt for sprays, roll-ons, or sticks be sure to lather those armpits well. I use Rexona Women Roll-Ons Shower Clean.
Lesson #4 – Lighten the mood with a sprits:
Deodorant will help stop the sweat to causing stench, but there’s no reason why you can’t smell amazing after class. I like to keep a roll on or small bottle of perfume handy. Give Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Rollerball at try.
Lesson #5 – Looking awake & fresh is part of the routine:
We all have busy lives or even if we don’t, a lot of us tend to look tired after a workout. I like to cover up any dark circles under my eyes and highlight some of my features with Benefit Fakeup Hydrating Under Eye Concealer.
Lesson #6 – Pale is stale:
A little blush never hurts. After a workout I avoid using any powdered makeup as I don’t want to clog my opened pores. I go for Tarte Cheek Stain to add a pop of color to my cheeks.
Lesson #7 – Design is everything:
Lululemon is always a common favorite. What makes their bags spectacular gym bags is the thought that went through behind the design. Phone pockets, water bottle pockets, a bag for dirty clothes, and a bunch of other nooks labeled and ready to use, like the Urban Warrior Duffel which has straps for your yoga mat.
