If you tell yourself “I am not fit enough” to do a, b or c, then own up to the lie you allowed yourself to believe and do not be surprised if you are not progressing towards your fitness goals. Our insecurities leads us to believe in lies; we’re not strong enough, not capable, not fit enough, the list of no’s and can’ts will never end if that’s the attitude you’re choosing.
Think about it, athletes do not wake up fit, athletes know fitness is a journey which takes hard work and dedication.
The person next to you in yoga class who can do a headstand and make it look as easy as walking has dedicated hours and maybe even years to her practice. The person who can do 50 push ups without breaking a sweat had difficulty doing 10 at some point before. Our body doesn’t wake up fit, it’s about the commitment and time you put into your body which will make the difference.
The proof is in your strength, stamina, and endurance. There are no shortcuts to fitness and results don’t lie. The more you work on it the more change you’ll witness. Don’t worry if you are not as fit as some others right now. What’s important to is where are you on your fitness journey. It’s only normal people are at different stages in their quest.
The fittest individuals dedicated plenty of time and effort to get their body to where it is (and probably ventured on their journey a while back), so don’t waste time and delay your start. Why not join the club? All of us started from 0 at some point. It’s about you and when you decide to start!
