If you haven’t had time to squeeze in any (or many) workouts in the week, fret not! You can now try one of these facilities below which claim to be 3-5x more effective than a regular gym workout. Whilst there are more traditional targeted fat burning centres like HYPOXI, it seems like EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) therapy is all the rage these days. I would highly recommend going with a buddy for these sessions if you can – their squeals will no doubt keep you delightfully entertained!
This was a VERY intense workout. We started off with several warm ups to include high knees, burpees, mountain climbers, lunges in order to break out into a sweat which served to provide contact with the sensors. The VisionBody Powersuit does not have any cables attached and comes with Bluetooth connectivity to the command center, which includes 32 pre-installed training programs and individual combination options to help create a unique and functional EMS workout for any user. We were told a celebrity muay thai fighter came in for a session on the highest settings, and left with muscle aches for five days! Currently only in Causeway Bay, they are opening another branch in Central very soon.
You get to keep your clothes on for this one! In fact, bring a T-shirt, long trousers and running shoes! There are two parts. The first is Hypoxi-Dermology which massages your body using vacuum and compression therapy that helps aid circulation and reduce cellulite. All you have to do is you lay like a vegetable! Easy.
The second part gets your heart rate pumping in the “fat burning zone”. Your physician will ask you to get on either a treadmill or a bike (the latter of which is encased in an egg-shaped looking contraption) for another 30 minutes. On the bike, a fabric is wrapped around your waistline like a skirt which oscillates up and down whilst you pedal. To achieve the full results, you will need to pedal fast enough to keep RPM at the optimum level which is not as easy as it sounds and you are guaranteed to break out into a sweat doing so!
