Here are some tips to keep your skin as clean as it can be, even after a hard sweat session.
1. Keep your hands off that face.
We’ve all been there, as the sweat rolls down the tip of your nose or it’s about to pass your eyebrows you quickly use the convenience of your hands to wipe it off.
Keep a towel handy to every class and keep those dirty hands away from your sweaty face. Your skin is already handling enough from the sweat and the exposure to the conditions you’re in, it doesn’t need your dirty hands to add to the stress.
2. Rinse and wash again.
Sweating means your pores are opening up, so whether it’s pre- or post- workout, you want to keep your skin as clean as possible to limit the amount of dirt and oil your pores are exposed to.
Wash your face before and after a workout! That’s the magic combination that’ll keep your skin squeaky clean. Either keep a small bottle of face wash handy or buy an easy to use face wipe from your nearest pharmacy.
3. Avoid using scrubs.
Contrary to popular belief, scrubs can be damaging to your skin. Simply wiping your face gently with warm damp cloth is enough of a scrub to polish your face. The common face scrubs found in stores in fact irritate your skin and can sometimes thin it out.
If you’re working out a lot, due to the oil and dirt build up, increasing stress over your skin by removing its layers can increase it’s sensitivity and lead to irritation and skin dryness.
