Singapore is a nation built on diversity. People from all walks of life migrated to this island nation to now call Singapore home. The late great Lee Kuan Yew had said, “at the end of the day, what I cherish most are the human relationships” and we at GuavaPass Singapore can’t deny the home we’ve found in Singapore.
We asked our Singapore team a few questions to answer in the spirit of SG50.
When did you move to Singapore?
Why is Singapore home to you?
Describe Singapore in 5 words.

I moved to Singapore in July of 2014.
Moving to Singapore was the first time in my life living abroad. I was pretty nervous not knowing what life would be like living halfway around the world from my family and friends and not knowing a single person. Right off the bat, I met a great group of friends who welcomed me into Singapore and showed me the ropes. Singapore has a ton of like minded people coming from all walks of life that you immediately connect with. Wherever the road leads us in the future, I know that I’ve built a mini family in Singapore I will never forget.
Fast growing, clean, innovation, great people, fun

Moved to Singapore last December.
Singapore has always been my home away from home. My parents retired here and I’ve been coming back every year. This is my third time living here and I love how Singapore has grown over the years.
Vibrant. Cosmopolitan. Efficient. Warm. Shiok.

Over the past 2.5 years, I have had the privilege to meet some truly amazing people from all over the world. I have built strong family-like bonds with these people which has made living in a foreign country a lot easier. Even when we leave and return to our homeland we will still remain connected!
Fast, Vibrant, Welcoming, HOT, Opportunity

Moved to Singapore end of August 2014, so almost a year ago!
Coming from New York and growing up with an international family, being apart of a diverse community is one of the main things here that makes me feel at home. What I love about the Singapore community is that everyone I’ve met have a go-getter mentality, so you can always find someone to go on a trip with or try something new!
Unique, international, expanding, welcoming, efficient

Moved to Singapore June 2013.
Although I’ve never lived here, Singapore has always been an extension of what I recognize as home. My mom and my siblings spent some years here, and as long as I’ve known my grandparents, Singapore was always home. Finally making the move to Singapore myself after being abroad in the U.S., I am glad to return to my asian roots. It’s a combination of where I am in my life, the great vibrancy Singapore is today, and the melting pot it has always been that makes Singapore very much my home.
Diverse, vibrant, clean, efficient, changing.
