We had the chance to sit down with Tamy Vo, one of our GuavaPass members.
1 – Firstly, tell us a little about yourself?
“I’m from sunny Los Angeles. I’m a healthy/clean eating enthusiast and I love staying active. I have traveled to Europe, around Asia, Australia, and of course, my home country the US of A! Next stop, I want to travel to parts of Africa”
2 – How did you first find out about GuavaPass and how long have you been apart of the community for?
“Two of my good friends are a part of the Guava Pass family so I have been using it since day 1. I basically live and breath GP, no really, I talk about it daily to people that I meet in GP classes or with those asking because they’re interested in embarking on this fitness revolution”
3 – What does it mean to you to have a “healthy” lifestyle?
“My recipe for a healthy lifestyle would start with exercise and eating right. My other main component of a healthy lifestyle would be laughing. It’s nature’s best medicine which both exercise and diet doesn’t give you”
4 – What does your weekly workout routine look like?
“My weekly, actually daily routine include long walks to the refrigerator and wine-drinking bicep curls – KIDDING! My week consists of 3-4 days yoga (mostly vinyasa) and 3 days of HIIT/functional training. I plan to include more strength training in my regime”
5 – What do you love most about GuavaPass?
“I love the of variety classes, and like probably most commitment phobe people in this world, I like that I’m not tied down to one gym. I love the community of people I have met, both other Guava Pass users and trainers who are now my friends. It makes exercising much more enjoyable. I also love that if it wasn’t for Guava Pass, I would never know about the independent studios and how GP supports local businesses”
6 – What are your “go to” studios on GuavaPass?
8 – What are your favorite types of workouts and why?
Boxing – great full body workout, your toned arms will thank you for it too!
Yoga – flexibility and overall uplift in (positive) energy
Pilates – ABS-olutely love it!
HIIT – it makes the most out of my workout and I’m burning calories long after my class
9 – Where do you foresee the health and fitness industry heading in Singapore over the next few years?
“Over the past year, I have seen more independent fitness studios and health-centric F&B outlets opening. People are responding to it well. What we’re experiencing now in Singapore is just the start of the new age gold rush”
10 – Lastly… Perhaps you could share some words of wisdom that you live by?
“My words of wisdom constantly change depending on what is going on in my life. So…as of now I would say, “rarely have I seen a situation where doing less than the other guy is a good strategy” and “trust the timing of your life”.
